News   A Few Words With David Dienstbier...
- Posted By Mike Schneider, 09.20.2000

Back at E3 2000 we were given the opportunity to interview David Dienstbier, the father of the Turok franchise on the N64. This was before Turok 3 was completely finished. Now, after having
reviewed the game, we were given the opportunity to ask David a few follow up questions:

NShooters -

We loved how Turok 3 turned out, looking back, what was it like to make the Turok series for the Nintendo 64? Addititionally, what are your feelings about the game?

David -

Thanks for your kind words about T3! The team deserves all of the credit for making that game great. The really poured their guts into it. As far as my feelings about the game go, its really kind of surrealistic. The past 7 years of my life have involved "Turok" in one form or another, and its been a constant. That's twice as long as any relationship I've ever had!
Turok 3 is a great way to end the series. It wraps the franchise on a high note, and the evolution from the first game to T3 has been very interesting to watch. A lot of great people have been involved with the series, and
most are still with us today. Some others have gone on to do their own thing, and enjoyed success beyond Turok. How cool is it to think back, remember old times, and then see friends and old coworkers doing well, running their own shops, or raising families? What a ride! I think that for me, T3 represents the real winning run. Response from Mario Club and the gaming press has been outstanding, and the game is poised to rock the N64 this Christmas. Its been very, very gratifying.

NShooters -
Will you continue to make games like this for Nintendo's GameCube?

David -
As far as Gamecube is concerned...... Heh heh heh....
