News   New Details About Resident Evil Series on GameCube
- Posted By Ryan Eid, 09.20.2001

According to the Weekly Famitsu magazine in Japan, Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil (Biohazard) series has stated that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica will all simply be ports of the existing titles, not a complete remake, like Resident Evil 1 will be.

"The three titles will be ports," Mikami said. "If we remake them, it will take a while until [Resident Evil] 4 will be released. I'm sure the users are eagerly awaiting Resident Evil 4, so please bear with the ports."

Mikami also mentioned that Resident Evil 0, which has been in development seemingly forever, will be released about one year after the first Resident Evil game is re-released on GameCube. Resident Evil 1 is set to be released in March 2002 in Japan, meaning RE0 could be out as early as first quarter 2003.
