News   Japanese Sales News
- Posted By Mike Schneider, 06.28.2002

Thanks to Media Create Japan and courtesy of Cube Europe, we have the latest Japanese console sales totals (17-23 June 2002).

- Console sales this week (total sales this year in brackets):

- PlayStation 2: 51,700 (Annual: 1,914,900)
- Game Boy Advance: 30,600 (Annual: 1,315,600)
- GameCube: 7,100 (Annual: 603,100)
- PSOne: 3,500 (Annual: 135,300)
- Xbox: 3,200 (Annual: 210,400)
- Wonder Swan Color: 1,800 (Annual: 91,300)
- Game Boy Color: 1,700 (Annual: 57,200)
- Nintendo 64: 94 (Annual: 4,800)
- Wonder Swan: 96 (Annual: 4,500)
- Game Boy: 70 (Annual: 4,100)
- PocketStation: 10 (Annual: 900)

From this, it can be seen that Sony continues its domination. Likewise, the Game Boy Advance is helping to keep Nintendo afloat in Japan. Moreover, it is interesting to note that even the PSOne sold better than the Xbox over the most recent week.

Finally, of the top ten selling games, zero were for GameCube. Super Mario Sunshine will change that, undoubtedly.
