News   Crazy Man Waits in Line 50 Days for Turok: Evolution
- Posted By Ryan Eid, 07.19.2002

On July 18th, a rabid UK Turok fan began his world-record-setting journey by waiting in line for 50 days and 50 nights just so he can be the first person to purchase Turok: Evolution, Acclaim's next installment of the popular Turok franchise.

And Jthe 25 year old, Jason Read, will also have help from Acclaim themselves, chalking this up to their latest PR stunt. "When we heard about Jason's attempt to get into the record books by queuing for one of our games, we felt that we had to support him," said Shaun White, PR manager at Acclaim. "We sincerely hope that by providing him with some of our other games, the next 50 days will fly by."

"I've been a huge fan of the Turok series and was excited to see that a fourth game is being released later in the year," Read said. "This gave me the perfect excuse to make my record-breaking queuing attempt, and I'm fully committed to going all the way."

Recently Acclaim took pictures of the man, standing outside his local videogame retailer, eagerly anticipating the title. Hygeine issues were not disclosed at press time, leaving them up to one's imagination. And it begs the question; is this devotion, or idiocy? You be the judge.

Just chillin'

A spectacle? Nah...

That's a nifty looking Turok 2 bag...

"Would you like to stop by my tent, say Saturday night around 7ish?"
