Preview Medal of Honor: Infiltrator
- By Daniel Maraglio [Senior Editor]
With the failure that is Medal of Honor: Underground on the Gameboy Advance, EA Games needs to make a really good impression with its next portable game of the popular series.
Taking a new approach seems logical, but will MOH fans accept a game played mostly in a third person perspective and with limited, fixed position first person shooting? If pulled off correctly the answer is yes, and from the look of the new screenshots and features list, MOH: Infiltrator will be just as enjoyable as the rest of series titles.
The gameplay has obviously taken a whole new direction. The overhead view looks like the NES/Arcade classic "Commando" and the first person shooting strongly resembles "Operation Wolf", also on the NES and Arcade. The gameplay will seamlessly consist of infantry combat, vehicular combat (Tanks and Jeeps), covert operations, and sniping. Players can also employ plenty of WW2 era weapons like machine guns, grenades and bazookas and more to accomplish their missions. Other features are a two player link-up mode with Co-Op and combat gameplay and linking the GBA to the Gamecube while playing MOH: Rising Sun will provide the player with a detailed map.
