Preview  Gradius Galaxies
- By Mike Schneider [Editor In Chief]

The advent of the GameBoy Advance brought about the dreams and possibilities of many old-school franchises being revived. Add one more to that list. Gradius is as classic of a series as they come, with side-scrolling shoot-em-up gameplay that hearkens back to the early days of arcade action.

Gradius Galaxies is a totally new offering from Konami that will feature eight entirely new stages to soar through in your fast and deadly attack ship, the Vic Vaper. As any vet of the series can come to expect, there will be plenty of powerups that can be picked up while going through levels. Game players will be able to choose their Vic Caper’s initial weapons and configuration, including beam lasers, photon missiles, and twin cannons.

Little other information has been revealed about Gradius Galaxies; however, one can expect the game to feature simple controls, waves and waves of enemies hounding you, and colossal end bosses that fill the screen with fire. Few games can test your reflexes like the Gradius series, and at an estimated release price of $39.99, this is one test that’ll actually be worth paying to take.

We’re expecting screenshots within the next 24 hours, so be sure to check back.

We’ll have more as it breaks.
